Some species are restricted just to Japan, such as the endemic Pryer's Woodpecker, Okinawa Rail, Japanese Squirrel and Japanese Serow, others, such as the Great Spotted Woodpecker and Eurasian Red Squirrel, range all the way across Eurasia from Britain to Japan. Non-Handled Hunts: Peaceable Hill also offers hunters with their own dog the opportunity to participate in a traditional hunting experience. While Handheld Birds may not yet fully replace your field guide, it does offer the first useful tool for supplementing paper based field guides, and for that I give it four out of five stars.
